Maskini was a egyptian boy who lived with a poor family in a small town in the middle of the desert. He had a brother, Baniti, who was very intelligent, and a sister, Khepri, who was very friendly. His dad, Ottah, had "died" four years ago in the middle of a sandstorm. He dispappeared in it, no one ever had seen him again, so he was declared dead.
They had to go to a northen town because a sandstorm like the one who killed his dad was going to demolish the town, becuase it was going to be huge.

It was three days before chirstmas. Danny was a cheery kid who loved presents, and so chirstmas time. His parents had already the presents stored somewhere... And he wanted to find out where. "Mom, tell me what the presents are at least!" He said. "Not telling you!" His mom awsnered. "Aww..."
He was very upset. He had to find them! The limit for him was the 25th, so he had three days left. All the day he tried to find them: behind the furniture, below stuff, in the basement, even in the backyard. No luck. That was a day down...
